Family Budget data deletion

Use this page to request deletion of some or all Family Budget data without deleting your Family Budget account.

Free local mode data

If you use free local mode, your household budget and expense data is stored on your device only and is not sent to LilGenius Labs. You can delete it inside the app from Settings by choosing Delete Local Data. You can also remove local data by uninstalling the app or clearing Family Budget app storage in Android settings.

Cloud data deletion requests

If you use optional cloud sign-in/sync, you can request deletion of selected cloud data while keeping your account active.

1. Email [email protected] from the email address used for your Family Budget account.
2. Use the subject line Family Budget data deletion request.
3. Tell us what data you want deleted, for example a specific household, budget category, expense record, invitation, or all cloud budget data associated with your account. Do not send passwords, payment details, or full financial records in the email.

Types of data you can request to delete

• Cloud household names and household membership records.
• Budget category names and monthly budget amounts.
• Expense transaction amounts, dates, categories, and optional remarks.
• Pending household invitation records.

Your account email address and authentication user ID may remain if you request data deletion without deleting the account, because those are needed to keep the account active.

What may be retained

We may retain limited records when required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or to document that a deletion request was completed. If data belongs to a shared household, some records may remain visible to other authorized household members unless an authorized owner requests deletion. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten or purged.

Deletion timing

We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 7 days and complete verified data deletion requests within 30 days, unless a longer period is required for security, legal, or technical reasons. Backup deletion may take up to 90 days.
